Alternative Process 2

For my second alternative process I decided to do a silk screen. The First shirt I did used a picture of palm trees I took in Florida and I placed the words "American Teen" between the trees. The second shirt I did I overlapped the words "American Teen" in different colours. The words come from one of my favourite artist, Khalid's album, American teen. To create the screen I covered a picture frame in fabric and then put a thin layer of emulsion on the fabric. I left the screen in the dark room for 5 days. Once I took the screen out of the dark room I arranged my acetates on the light table and I placed my screen on top. I then put paper on the back of the screen and placed books on top to hold the paper down. I exposed the screen for 15 minutes and then I washed the screen for 10 minutes until I could see through the design. I let the screen dry for 24 hours and the next day I started printing. Once My designs were on the t-shirt and dry I ironed each design for about 5 minutes so the design would stay on.
